Rabbi Dov Pianko

Director of Judaic Studies

Rabbi Pianko studied at Yeshivat Mevaseret and then attended Yeshiva University, where he earned a Bachelor’s in International Business from Sy Syms School of Business. He went on to receive a Master’s in Jewish Education from Azrieli School of Jewish Education and Semicha from Pirchei Shoshanim.

Prior to joining Hillel Torah, Rabbi Pianko served as the Dean of Students at the Ramaz Upper School. In this role, he was responsible for student programming, leadership, and overall Jewish life and learning.

Rabbi Pianko is a passionate and experienced educator who believes that every child has the capacity to connect with their Judaism. His experience as a Dean of Students has given him a unique perspective and a strong commitment to helping students uncover their personal voice and find their own passion within Torah learning, mitzvot, and their relationship with Hashem. He is dedicated to creating meaningful relationships with students and their families, and inspiring a love for and commitment to Jewish life.

Born in New York, NY, and raised in Woodmere, NY, Rabbi Pianko enjoys a wide range of hobbies, including exploring national parks, traveling, and road trips. He also has a passion for Seforim, board games, and the works of Dr. Seuss.
