Admissions Process
Our admissions process is designed to get to know you and your child and ensure that we can provide the best environment to help them grow, thrive, and succeed.
01. Tell Us About You
We’d love to learn more about your family so we can tailor the admissions experience just for you. Complete our inquiry form or reach out directly to Karin Felix, Director of Admissions, to get started, karin.felix@hilletorah.org, 847-674-6533×209.
02. Get to Know Us
Schedule a Personal Tour: Visit our preschool or main campus to see Hillel Torah in action and share your hopes for your child. Contact Karin Felix to schedule a tour or request a Zoom visit.
Attend a Pop-In Tour: Pop-in to see our preschool in action and learn about our program and the admissions process.
Preschool Pop-In: Wednesday, Nov. 12 or Monday, Dec. 8, 9:00 – 10:00 am
Kindergarten Pop-In: Tuesday, Nov 18, 9:00 – 10:00 am
03. Apply to HT
Applications open Nov 1, 2025. After January 25, 2026, applications will be reviewed based on space availability. A non-refundable fee of $75 is due with the application.
Age Requirements:
- Pre-Nursery: 3 years old by October 31, 2026 and toilet trained by the start of the school year
- Nursery: 4 years old by October 31, 2026 and toilet trained by the start of the school year
- Kindergarten: 5 years old by October 31, 2026
04. Your Child’s Story
Learning about your child helps us set them up for success. To complete the admissions process, please submit the following required items:
Preschool and Kindergarten applicants:
- Teacher Recommendation Form – Early Childhood (Due by February 6, 2026)
- An observation visit to your child’s current early childhood program allows us to see them in a familiar setting and gain valuable insight from their teacher.
Primary and Middle School applicants:
- Teacher Recommendation Form – Judaic Studies, General Studies
- Release of Academic Records
- Student Shadow Experience, where your child can experience daily life at HT in person and complete assessments in Reading, Math, and Hebrew/Judaic studies for proper placement.
05. Admission Decision
Once all steps are complete, we’ll share your child’s admissions decision.
06. Enrollment
Upon acceptance, families have two weeks to complete enrollment. The enrollment contract includes a $500 deposit, applied toward tuition.
