Mrs. Rachel Teitcher Wins 2026 Hartman Educator of the Year

,

A proud Hillel Torah alumna, Mrs. Teitcher began her teaching career in special education in New York before returning to Hillel Torah as faculty. Over the past six years, Mrs. Teitcher has built a stellar reputation as an outstanding lead primary school teacher. Her classroom is calm and nurturing, and her instruction is clear and tailored to each student’s level. Mrs. Teitcher invests significant effort in consistently reflecting on her students’ needs and preparing for her classes, going the extra mile to support every child’s success.

Mrs. Teitcher also serves as the 3rd grade Team Leader, which includes leading our new RULER social-emotional curriculum in 3rd grade.

In the words of a Hillel Torah Parent: “We have seen first-hand (multiple times now) how you teach with all of your heart. The empathy and passion you exude in every interaction with parent and child alike is heartwarming. We know how much effort differentiated teaching requires and are so appreciative of all of your efforts. You truly go above and beyond.”

In addition to her work in the classroom, Mrs. Teitcher is a respected leader among her colleagues. For the past three years, she has served as chair of the Hillel Torah Faculty Council, partnering with faculty and administration to create positive change across the school. She also recently served as a faculty representative on the Compensation Task Force, helping shape our new Balanced Compensation plan for teachers.

Mrs. Teitcher’s dedication to her students and colleagues continues to have a meaningful impact on the Hillel Torah community. She is a valued member of our faculty, a tremendous asset to our school as a whole and, of course, to our third grade students.

With this well-deserved recognition, Mrs. Teitcher takes her place as the 11th Hillel Torah  teacher to earn this prestigious award!
