Preschool Eligibility

  • Pre-Nursery applicants must be 3-years-old by October 31 of the entering year
  • Nursery applicants must be 4-years-old by October 31 of the entering year
  • All applicants must be toilet trained by the start of the school year

School Hours and Extended Day Program

  • Pre-Nursery and Nursery Programs are in session Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Early drop-off is available beginning at 8:00 am
  • Aftercare Enrichment is available Monday-Thursday until 2:30 pm
  • Stay & Play extends Aftercare Enrichment Monday-Thursday until 4:30 pm
  • Friday Aftercare Enrichment and Stay & Play options begin in the Spring

Kindergarten Eligibility

Eligible applicants for Kindergarten must be 5-years-old by October 31 of the entering year.

School Hours

  • Early drop-off is available daily beginning at 7:30 am
  • The Kindergarten Program is in session Monday – Friday from 8:20 am – 3:50 pm
  • Friday Dismissal Times: The school year begins with a 1:30 pm dismissal time. 3:50 pm dismissal time begins in the Spring

  • Admissions Information Session – Date TBD
  • Sunday Funday for Prospective Early Childhood Families – December 17, 2023. Join us for family activities, singing, and connecting with the Hillel Torah community.

Thank you for applying to Hillel Torah! The checklist below will guide you through the Hillel Torah application process. If you have questions please contact our Admission Director at 847-674-6533 x209 or [email protected].

  • When to Apply Hillel Torah encourages families to begin the application process as early as possible. Our online application opens in early November and the preferred application deadline is January 22, 2024. Applications received after this date will be reviewed on a space available basis. A non-refundable fee of $100 must be submitted with each application.

Additional Requirements and Forms – Getting to know your child

  • Recommendation Form – Help us get to know your child by providing their current teacher with our  Early Childhood Teacher Recommendation Form. Submit by February 1, 2024
  • Observation Visit – We are excited to visit your child in their current school/preschool program. Observing each child in their current preschool allows us to see them in a setting that is comfortable for them and provides us with valuable insight into facilitating a successful transition to Hillel Torah. (February)

Acceptance Decisions

  • Acceptance notifications are sent out in April
  • Please confirm your child’s enrollment within two weeks of acceptance by submitting your online contract along with the enrollment deposit of $500 (which is applied toward tuition).

Financial Assistance

We urge parents who feel that the tuition is beyond their means not to hesitate to apply for financial assistance. In these challenging times, Hillel Torah deeply believes that financial aid is an essential expression of our values and critical for our families whose circumstances require such assistance. Our process is private and confidential and we are here to help you through the process.

  • JUF Right Start:  We are pleased to participate in the JUF Right Start program which provides a financial voucher for families enrolling their children in a Jewish infant, toddler or preschool program (Pre-Nursery or Nursery only) for the first time.   • FACTS: FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Hillel Torah
