Welcome to Hillel Torah! My name is Dov Shandalov and I am the Business Administrator at our school. Please contact me to discuss any financial matters or concerns that may arise. It is our job to make your Hillel Torah experience enjoyable. While escalating costs of Jewish education are real, rest assured that we are here to help. Whether you have questions regarding tuition and obligations or financial assistance, my door is always open. Please feel free to reach out at any time.
At Hillel Torah, we believe that a Jewish Education is a vital and worthwhile investment in our Jewish future. Maintaining our heritage, fostering a love for the Land of Israel and passing on Torah values to our children cannot be accomplished without a quality Jewish Day School education.
We are also aware that for many parents, tuition is higher than can be met reasonably. For that reason, we urge parents who feel that the tuition is beyond their means not to hesitate to apply for financial assistance. In these challenging times, Hillel Torah deeply believes that financial aid is an essential expression of our values and critical for our families whose circumstances require such assistance. Our process is private and confidential and we are here to help you through the process.
FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for Hillel Torah for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.
Once an online application has been completed, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process:
Documentation can also be faxed to 866-315-9264 or mailed to the address below. Please be sure to include the applicant ID on all faxed or mailed correspondence.

TAP into your child’s future
Introducing a new way for families to access Jewish education at Hillel Torah.
The Tuition Accessibility Partnership (TAP) Fund is an alternative tuition model for families interested in enrolling their children in Jewish day schools in Chicago. The TAP Fund caps tuition at 12% of a family’s annual adjusted gross income (AGI).
TAP was created for families with an AGI between $200,000 and $350,000 per year. Families who fall within this range may receive a capped tuition total.
Learn more by visiting TapFundChicago.org.
The TAP Fund is powered by Crown Family Philanthropies, a Chicago-based foundation dedicated to partnering with its communities to effect just and lasting social impact across generations.
The Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Scholarship Program at Hillel Torah was established to make a day school education more affordable for middle-income families who have more than one child enrolled at Hillel Torah Day School.
To be eligible for their scholarship, families must:
Eligible students will be entitled to a $5,200 tuition grant (amount subject to change).
