Anna Shkolnikov, Hillel Torah Kindergarten teacher, received the 2020 Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award presented by the Illinois Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (IACTE). The award honors teachers in the first five years of their careers who are recognized for their dedication to students and the profession.
Morah Shkolnikov is an alumna of Hillel Torah (class of 2010) and earned her Bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education from the Blitstein Institute of Hebrew Theological College, who nominated her for this award. Since joining the Hillel Torah community as a Kindergarten teacher in 2017, Anna has been an incredible asset to our Early Childhood faculty with her enthusiasm, work ethic, and compassion.
Morah Shkolnikov is passionate about her students and meets the needs of every child in the classroom. She is the kind of teacher who goes the extra mile for her students and always treats them with warmth and respect. Morah Shkolnikov’s Kindergarten classroom provides the right combination of allowing the children the freedom to explore and discover while also providing an environment in which they feel valued, loved, and supported.
On March 31, 2020, Anna will be recognized, along with other outstanding beginning teachers from around Illinois, at the IACTE Spring Conference. She has also been invited to a “Day at the Statehouse” in Springfield.
